Col. David P. Hammer is the Joint Project Manager for the Medical Countermeasure Systems Joint Project Management Office located in Frederick, Maryland. In this role, he is responsible for Medical Countermeasure development against Chemical, Biological threats and Diagnostics efforts in support of the nation’s chemical and biological defense.
Col. Hammer received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Iowa State University in Ames, IA (1992) and was commissioned as a Medical Service Corps officer the same year. Continuing with his education in 2001, Col. Hammer achieved a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Webster University in St. Louis, MO (2003). His military education includes the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Officer and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Medical Logistics Officer’s Course, United States Army Medical Materiel Agency Internship Program, and the Command and General Staff College. Col. Hammer is a member of the Acquisition Corps and is Acquisition Level III certified in Life Cycle Logistics, Program Management and as a Science and Technology Manager.
