Kevin W. Johnson MS, NRP is a Supervisor with the FBI Technical Hazards Response Unit, FBI Laboratory, Quantico, Virginia. With 40 years of public safety experience, he supervises FBI THRU response teams during CBRN and technical hazard incidents. He has responded to numerous biological, chemical and radiological criminal events, the crashes of Flight 93 and Flight 587, Hurricane Katrina, Graniteville derailment; and numerous National Special Security Events. He has represented THRU on the Interagency Board, the NFPA Hazmat Technical Committee, and the IAFC Hazmat Committee; and is an Incident Command instructor.
Prior to joining the FBI in 1999, he served as an EMS provider/supervisor in Jefferson County, Kentucky specializing in Hazmat/Technical Rescue. He was also a Flight Paramedic; Police Dive Rescue/Medic; and volunteered for 23 years with Jefferson County Fire Departments. He holds an AS in Fire Science, a BS in Occupational Training, and a MS in Human Resource Education.
