Battalion Chief Ranck has been a member of the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department for 22 years and a member of the Hazardous Materials Response Team for 20 years. He is responsible for the day to day management and emergency operations of the Hazardous Materials Response Team. He also coordinates the continuing education and training for a team of over 200 members. His previous assignments include Fire Investigations, Operations as a shift Hazmat Officer on the hazmat unit, Station Commander at one of the satellite hazmat rescue stations and is currently assigned to the Special Operations Division. He also participates and serves on several committees within the National Capitol Region to include the Council of Governments Hazmat Sub-committee, NCR Securing the Cities committee, Flammable Liquids Working Group and the Fairfax Joint Local Emergency Planning Committee.
