NCT will feature a workshop on federal response and support to CBRNe threats. This will be chaired by Jesus Cuartas, Branch Chief of Response Operational Planning at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which plays a key role in supporting first responders from prevention to response of CBRNe incidents. This workshop will welcome representatives of various local and federal bodies, as well as first responders, and will focus fostering the dialogue abut interoperability the role of federal agency in supporting local responders.

Mr. Jesus “JB” Cuartas is the Chief of Operational Planning for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Region II which covers that States of New York and New Jersey as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. As the Chief of Operational Planning, Mr. Cuartas manages deliberate catastrophic planning and the Regional Hurricane Program for Region II. Additionally, Mr. Cuartas served as the Region II Exercise Director for Gotham Shield 2017.
